CPE Employee Spotlight with Nicole Howard

Nicole Howard is the Communications Associate at CPE where she supports communications, marketing, and branding needs for the organization. Her work helps to increase the overall visibility and reach of CPE’s program. Learn more about Nicole in the interview below:

What college did you attend?

I attended American University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communications.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would learn how to create animations. I love watching ideas come to life.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy taking daily walks, listening to insightful podcasts, making tea and coffee at home, and reading.

If you could meet anyone, who would it be?

I would meet Oprah. Her career journey is amazing. She took a risk starting her own studio. She has helped us document so many important stories through her interviews, and she loves reading! I’m pretty sure we would have so much to talk about.

What three traits define you?

The three traits that best describe me are empathetic, creative, curious

What’s the most rewarding aspect about your role at CPE?

The most rewarding aspect is listening to our community share how CPE has helped them in life.  I get to interview our mentors, and mentees and always leave the conversation feeling like our work is necessary.

What is your favorite part about working for CPE?

The staff diversity and commitment to the mission. I knew it was important for me as an employee, but I didn’t realize how much of a difference it would make on my spirit and overall morale.
