Brandon White
Chief Program Officer
Brandon White joined the CPE staff in February 2017. Brandon leads CPE’s program operations, directly overseeing the team that supports CPE’s students, mentors, and families. He is responsible for designing and implementing student and mentor curricula, developing and managing CPE’s case management practices, and overseeing its data and evaluation initiative.
Brandon brings hands-on experience in higher education to CPE in addition to his background in statistical methods and the development of data systems intended to provide effective interventions for college students requiring academic support. Prior to joining CPE, Brandon was a Doctoral Candidate and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, Brandon conducted research on the intersection of 20th century educational policy and literary history. Prior to Berkeley, Brandon served as an Educational Consultant and a Teaching and Learning Fellow at Brandeis University’s Research and Instruction Services, where he managed a research group tasked with collecting a diverse array of data to support the university’s teaching priorities. Brandon is the co-editor of Learning Analytics: From Research to Practice, the first entry in the budding field of learning analytics, which attempts to use digital tools to explore the pedagogical process.
Brandon obtained his B.A. in English from Princeton University, an M.A. in Cultural Production from Brandeis University, and his Ph.D. in English at the University of California, Berkeley. In his free time, Brandon can be found with a book or on his bike — an avid cyclist, he enjoys getting lost on the streets of D.C.
