Jonathan B. Tucker
Jonathan B. Tucker joined the CPE team in December of 2018 as Grants Manager. Born in Washington, DC and raised in Crofton, Maryland, Jonathan is a poet, educator, photographer, grant writer, and nonprofit professional with over a decade’s experience in the fields of education and youth development.
An alum of the University of Maryland College Park, Jonathan graduated cum laude with honors, with two bachelor’s degrees, one in Sociology and one in Government and Politics. He has written and won grants for DC Public Charter Schools, after school academic enrichment programs, national progressive advocacy organizations, theaters, arts and culture organizations, and international exchange programs.
Jonathan has received numerous awards and fellowships, and has performed and taught at schools, libraries, detention centers, museums, and conferences around the world. When not mentoring young poets or writing grant proposals, you can find him hosting open mic events at Busboys and Poets and leading arts and culture tours for artists in an exchange program between Washington, DC and South Africa.
