What We Do
The number of Washington, DC area youth who fall through the cracks, drop out of high school, end up unemployed, in the juvenile justice system or worse is staggering. They don’t get the chance to realize their potential – and the dream of going to college.
The CPE Model for Success
Since 1993, CPE has helped motivated, low-income students in the DC area beat these odds and fulfill the dream of a college education. Our model for success works because we know what it takes to overcome the particular challenges first-generation-to-college students face. The result: a unique, customized approach combining partnerships with quality schools and the right support and resources that create a college-going culture to overcome the barriers that might otherwise prevent these students form getting to and through college. CPE alumni are achieving success in their professional and personal lives, and they are bringing that success back to their families and the communities where they live and work.
CPE at a Glance:

We are passionate about helping even more students beat the odds. Over the next three years, our goal is to triple the number of motivated, low-income students we serve in the DC metro area to help them fulfill their potential, obtain a college degree, and build successful careers.
