CPE students not only enroll in college, they also graduate. Almost three quarters have obtained college degrees. This is more than three times the rate of both low-income students nationally and all DC Public School students.
College tours
CPE takes students to visit and explore colleges at least twice each year. Incoming freshmen participate in college tours as part of their retreat and orientation to CPE. In recent years, students visited James Madison University, American University, and The George Washington University. At GW, the university’s Office of Multicultural Affairs presented a panel of minority students to share their experiences with CPE students.
