CPE hosts over twenty enrichment events and four college visits throughout the year combining college preparatory workshops, community service activities, and exposure to professional role models to keep students empowered, energized, and inspired to achieve.

College Preparatory Programs
Students and parents agree that the college preparatory programs are the most indispensable of CPE’s enrichment offerings. College preparatory programming at CPE begins in the freshman year with a college planning workshop. Thereafter, students and parents attend workshops every year tailored for their class. CPE students also engage in supplementary college prep and planning activities including an SAT preparation class with the Princeton Review, a four-day college preparatory course on a college campus with College Summit, and visits at local universities. These programs are central to helping CPE families navigate the complex college and application process and secure scholarships and financial aid that allow students to reach their goal of attending college.

Career Pathways
CPE’s Career Pathways Summer Program requires all returning students to participate in a summer internship, academic or other enrichment program based on their interests and career goals. The goals of the Career Pathways program are to promote:

This program also provides CPE the opportunity to strengthen its relationships with donors, local universities, and mentors.

Community Service Activities
As participants in the CPE program, students benefit from a great deal of community and volunteer support. Consequently, a vital part of the CPE philosophy is teaching students the value of “giving back,” and empowering students as they develop into young leaders. Through CPE’s community service activities, students dedicate themselves to improving their communities and learn that despite their age, economic position, family background or neighborhood environment, they have the ability to help others.
