Small Commitment, Big Impact
Mentors who spend as little as a few hours a month with a young person can help him/her develop confidence, build trust, and achieve goals. CPE mentors understand the impact that a little time can have on a high school student.

All mentors are matched based on gender, common interests, and geographic proximity. CPE hosts regularly scheduled college preparatory, community service, and recreational activities throughout the school year for mentors and students. Most mentors also spend time with their students outside of CPE activities. Below are examples of common mentor-student activities:

Unexpected Rewards
Youth are not the only ones whose lives can be changed by mentoring. Mentoring programs provide mentors with the opportunities to meet new people, become involved with the community, and gain a different perspective.
