CPE is looking for energetic and dependable volunteers to mentor CPE students. CPE mentors must be college graduates and at least 21 years old. CPE mentors commit to the following:
- a two-year mentoring relationship
- meeting with their student once per month
- calling/emailing their student once per week
- being a reliable resource and friend
Ordinary People
There are no special skills required to mentor a high school student. CPE mentors are ordinary people who want to spend quality time with young people in their community.

Extraordinary Results
Mentors make a difference. Youth who meet regularly with mentors are more likely to exhibit the following characteristics than non-mentored youth:
- fewer absences from school
- better attitudes towards school
- more confidence about schoolwork
- better chances of attending college
- less drug or alcohol use
