Khari Brown has more than ten years of leadership experience in education and youth development. Since joining Capital Partners for Education in 2001, Khari has directed the organization through a period of unprecedented growth and development. Through successful grant writing campaigns, the addition of an annual fundraising event, and the expansion of CPE’s individual donor base, CPE’s revenues have more than doubled. The number of full time staff has increased from one to five since 2001, and CPE’s student body has increased by more than 50%. Khari has also led the transformation of CPE’s mentoring program, which has doubled the size of its volunteer corps over the past four years.

During this period Khari also coached college and high school basketball. With a passion for serving low-income students and a commitment to improving their educational opportunities, Khari left the for-profit sector in 2001 to devote his career to the field of education and youth services.
